Founder

Michael F. Mann

•Mike is a committed charity worker and social activist since a teen.

•He originally volunteered in Washington DC helping youth and homeless; and ‘lobbied’ congress about racism, world hunger, homelessness, and the environment.

•Mike was the founding Chairman of the Board of ByteBack based in Washington, DC and was instrumental to its early growth and success. ByteBack is still thriving many years later with great educational training centers, students and volunteer teachers in Baltimore and Washington. “Awarded Non-Profit of the Year 2021–2022 by the DC Chamber of Commerce.” “Byte Back’s mission is to close the digital divide by providing under-resourced communities an equitable pathway into the digital economy. We achieve this through transformative digital advocacy, digital literacy, and tech certification training.” “Each year Byte Back helps hundreds of students prepare for a changing world. They moved up the pathway, gained tech skills, and found living-wage careers using technology.” https://byteback.org/

•Mike cofounded and financed Change the World Social Venture Consulting Program at the University of Maryland; a platform for students to apply their skills in designing scalable solutions for nonprofit and social enterprise organizations. CTW graduated over 400 students from its innovative program, and worked to help more than 120 non-profit organizations, in cooperation with several other top university business schools.

•His most notable charity project was Grassroots.org (501c3) which provided a variety of free services and tools to thousands of other 501c3 charities for about ten years. Eventually larger organizations were able to provide greater scale and efficiency offering similar services.

•Mike realized he could serve charity even better by building businesses, so he could hire people and donate more time and money to select causes.

•Mike has founded many successful companies as a ‘social entrepreneur’. See MikeMann.com/successes. And he wrote a book on that subject (MakeMillions.com and hard copies at Amazon.)

•Mike is known as the world’s top expert on .Com domain names. Google: “Mike Mann domains”

•Many articles have been written about his work including Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, and CNET; and he has appeared on CNN TV.

•Currently Mike is the founder and chairman of Phone.com Inc.; the CEO and founder of DomainMarket.com Inc., and the CEO and founder of SEO.com Inc. All three were simultaneously in the INC500 list of fastest growing American small businesses in 2012 (probably a record for the publication), and are still thriving.

•Mike funds and operates Make Change Trust donor advised fund, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to select charities; Please see MakeChange.com for a list of recipients and other information.
